I was raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Vanderbilt in 1988. I completed my medical degree at the University of Tennessee in 1994. I moved to Tucson in 1994 for a residency in Emergency Medicine at University of Arizona and completed that in 1997, and began practicing Emergency Medicine at TMC that year. From 2010-2013 I returned to University of Arizona to complete a residency in Pediatrics. I am board certified in Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. I practice Pediatric Emergency Medicine at TMC and Hospital Medicine at Banner UMC. I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.  
I have been practicing medicine at TMC, in one form or another, continuously since 1997. My hobbies are cycling, birding, and bike travel. I spend as much time out in the Sonoran Desert as possible.
