Dr. Janavi Rao, M.D. was born in Miami, FL and raised in Bangalore, India.  She earned her medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and went on to complete her anesthesiology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis MO where she served as chief resident of her class.  She completed an interventional pain medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan. She practiced anesthesiology (pediatric and adult) and pain management for one year in Michigan prior to moving to Tucson AZ. She has a special interest in caring for pediatric patients with chronic pain.
Dr. Rao and her husband, Dr. Jayanth Manoharan (general surgeon, Saguaro Surgical) enjoy hiking and swimming and have two beautiful daughters who mean the world to them.
